King House is situated in the Heart of Newcastle City. Newcastle is one of the major ports on the east coast of Australia. Newcastle boasts some of Australia’s best surfing beaches. Newcastle Beach itself is only a 10 minute walk from KH. Newcastle is home to one of Australia’s premier surfing events, Surfest, which attracts surfers from all over the world.

KH is directly opposite Event Cinemas and surrounded by bars and restaurants. King Street (our street) Darby Street (first adjacent street west of KH) and the Honeysuckle Wharf precincts are all within 2 to 10 minutes’ walk from KH.

Newcastle University is a 20 minute bus ride from KH.

King House share accommodation offers 18 stylish hotel like rooms . With elevator it also offers two rooms that are compliant with Australian regulations for handicap access.

Rooms have been built with sound deadening membrane between each room to maximise each occupant’s quiet enjoyment. All windows are double glazed.

KH has two common areas. The main area on entry level boasts a state of the art kitchen, featuring two ovens, two gas powered hot plates (4 burners each) and a large refrigerator. There is a communal dining table that seats 12 people and there are numerous sofas, a pool table and 60 inch TV with Foxtel connected. This is also air conditioned.

The other common area is on level 2 and whilst it also has a 50 inch TV with Foxtel is has been designed as a quiet reading area for comfort. Both Common Areas are WiFi enabled.
